Acupuncture can help general wellbeing

Evidence of acupuncture’s effectiveness is growing as researchers evaluate the best ways to measure how the body responds to it.

Around the world, clinical studies are being conducted to understand how acupuncture can be beneficial for many more conditions.  You don’t necessarily have to have a specific reason to come for an acupuncture treatment. Some people choose acupuncture when their bodily functions are out of balance but they have no obvious diagnosis and many have regular treatments because they find it so beneficial and relaxing.

One of the main aims of acupuncture is to bring about balance and harmony to mind and body. Sometimes you may just feel lacking in energy, have poor sleep patterns, a stressful job, poor diet, find hard to relax and switch off.

Acupuncture for Pregnancy & Fertility

I have treated many women during their pregnancy when morning sickness has been a problem;  indigestion, fatigue, oedema, carpal tunnel and towards the end of pregnancy low back ache and pelvic pain. I will always work closely with midwives and GPs and again, many women find the acupuncture treatment relaxing and restorative. I am also experienced in using acupuncture alongside IVF treatments and infertility (both male and female).

Acupuncture for Stress and Mental Health

One of the great attractions for me is that acupuncture (Chinese medicine) aims to address the whole person, integrating body, mind and spirit. Back in the 5th Century BC Plato complained that “The greatest mistake in the treatment of diseases is that there are physicians for the body and physicians for the soul, although the two cannot be separated”.

I have noticed that acupuncture has a profound influence on the emotional and mental state of my patients. Frequent comments after treatment, even for tennis elbow, are that the person feels ‘lighter’, ‘unblocked’, ‘feels more like him/herself’. Acupuncture, sometimes along side psychotherapy or counseling, can bring about a more balanced mental and emotional state. I am always willing to discuss how this might help you and work in conjunction with any other treatment you may be having.

Acupuncture for Facial Rejuvenation

I have studied Facial Rejuvenation with Virginia Doran and am able to offer this as part of my acupuncture practice. I was drawn to this form of cosmetic acupuncture because it treats the whole person, inside and out. The effects of FRA (Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture) are that it balances the whole person whilst also concentrating on bringing energy to the face. Generally it takes between 7 – 10 treatments to notice any visible difference but the wellbeing is generally felt before this. I am happy to discuss this in detail as it is not suitable for everybody.
